Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) to

2025 marks a particularly significant year in the enduring
UK-Oman friendship, as it celebrates the 225th anniversary of
the 'Unshook Agreement' (1800). This historic treaty between
our two countries documented the mutual commitment to a
steadfast and unshaken relationship that continues to this
day.
Our confirmed Guests of Honour will be: H.E. Sheikh Khalifa
Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Foreign
Ministry of Oman and Hamish Falconer MP, Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State (Middle East, North Africa,
Afghanistan and Pakistan), Foreign, Commonwealth and
Development Office.

of The Sultan's School community in Muscat, assisting in school

Ten full scholarships for UK nationals for a period of intensive
Arabic language study at the renowned Sultan Qaboos College in
Manah, focusing on Modern Standard Arabic and Omani dialect.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Sultan of Oman Haitham
bin Tarik met at 10 Downing Street to deepen ties in energy,
defence, and technology, marking a significant milestone in
